The OMR Festival has become a European institution, bringing international stars of the digital scene and hidden champions from across the digital marketing space to Hamburg for two insightful, inspirational days of events, presentations, and networking opportunities.

OMR

Technologies used: React Native, TypeScript, GraphQL, Customer.io, Mapbox, Firebase

From top international speakers like Kim Kardashian and Rick Rubin presenting on multiple stages to masterclasses run by the likes of Google, TikTok and Pinterest, to a two-day trade fair, side events and Guided Tours, the OMR Festival is a must for digital professionals.

The festival companion app is a key tool for attendees to schedule their time at the event, find their way around, access all the info they might need before and during the proceedings, and make use of extra features such as saving connections with other attendees.

It was exciting and energising to work with a technology partner happy to take ownership of their part of the project so completely. Lucky Few were constantly proactive in the collaboration, and we knew we could rely on them at crunch-time moments to deal with emergent issues quickly and effectively.

- Maik Kummerfeldt, Digital Product Manager, OMR

In the past, OMR had faced challenges with poor mobile data signal at the event space itself, which combined with issues in their app, led to slow, unsatisfactory user experiences.

Lucky Few and OMR shifted their mindset to build the event application with offline support at its core, solving these issues and elevating the event's digital integration to a whole new level. OMR were pleased to be working with a partner who understood that the event-specific needs took precedence over the particular technology used.

Users polled following the event gave the app excellent scores, averaging 8.7 out of 10. Further evidence of the enhanced experience of the renewed app can be seen from the fact that 80% of all attendees downloaded it, and 80% of those went the extra mile to log in using their ticket (and the original email address used to purchase it). This certainly demonstrates general appreciation for the app and its perceived usefulness.
